June 2, 2026 – Primary Election

• Monday, March 23, 2026: Petition filing deadline 4pm for the June Primary Election
• Thursday, April 2, 2026: 3:00 pm Ballot position drawing for the Primary Election
• Wednesday, April 8, 2026: Last day to file Party Declaration Forms to change political party affiliation for the June Primary
• April 18, 2026 - Vote by Mail ballots are mailed out.
• Tuesday, May 12, 2026: Last day to register to vote for the June Primary Election until 4pm at your Municipal Clerk’s Office or until 9pm at the Election Board
• Wednesday, May 20, 2026: Sample ballots mailed out.
• Tuesday, May 26, 2026:  Last day to apply by mail for a Mail-In Ballot for the Primary Election
• Tuesday, May 26, 2026- Sunday, May 31, 2026:  Early voting period for Primary election.  Tuesday - Saturday 10am - 8pm and Sunday 10am - 6pm.  Locations can be found on this website.
• Monday, June 1, 2026: 3:00 pm Last opportunity to apply in person for Mail-In Ballot in the County Clerk’s Office
• Tuesday, June 2, 2026: Primary Election Day: Polls are open 6am to 8pm
• Tuesday, June 2, 2026: Deadline at 4pm to file Petitions to run as a Nominated by Petition candidate for the November General Election - to County Clerk's office.
• Tuesday June 2, 2026: Returning Vote by Mail ballots MUST either be dropped in a drop box by 8pm OR be hand delivered in person to the Warren County Board of Elections office at 202 Mansfield St., Belvidere by 8pm OR be postmarked no later than today and received by the Board of Elections no later than June 8, 2026 in order to be tallied.
• Friday, June 12, 2026:  Primary Election certified.

November 3, 2026 – General Election 

• Tuesday, June 2, 2026 - 4:00 pm - Petition deadline for Nominated by Petition Candidates to be placed on the General Election Ballot.  County & Municipal candidates must turn in their petition to the County Clerk located at 413 Second St. Belvidere.
• Monday, July 27, 2026: 4:00 pm School Board Petition and Washington Township Fire District petition filing deadline for November General Election to County Clerk's office - 413 Second St., Belvidere.
• Monday, August 10, 2026: 3:00 pm Ballot position drawing for General Election
• Friday, August 14, 2026:  Last day for a Nominated by Petition, School Board or Fire District Commissioner candidate to withdraw their name from the ballot. 
• Tuesday, August 25, 2026: Last day for a candidate nominated in the Primary Election to withdraw from the General Election
• Thursday, August 27, 2026: Last day to fill a vacancy of Primary Election nominees
• Friday, September 18, 2026 - Vote by Mail ballots are delivered to the US Postal service to be mailed out.
• Tuesday, October 13, 2026: Last day to register to vote for the November General Election until 4pm at your Municipal Clerk’s Office or until 9pm at the Election Board
• Wednesday, October 21, 2026: Sample ballots mailed out.
